CHICAGO — Parker Friedrichsen scored a career-high 27 points, and Davidson hit a season-best 14 3-pointers in a 79-64 win at Loyola Chicago Wednesday night.
It's the second straight Atlantic 10 Conference win for the Wildcats, who improved to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Ramblers (5-11) fell to 1-2 in the A-10.
Friedrichsen, who previously scored a high of 19 against Duquesne on Dec. 30, shot 6-of-8 from 3-point range and finished with an 8-of-11 night from the field. He scored Davidson's first 11 points in the first 4:55 of the second half, and his 27 points are the most for any Wildcat this season.
Friedrichsen had help, too, as backcourt mates Roberts Blums (15 points) and Nick Coval (11) also scored in double figures. And Davidson had a season-best 22 assists on 27 buckets, led by Sam Brown's seven and Josh Scovens' six.
The Wildcats led by as many as 15 points in the first half, when a Manie Joses trey made it 26-11. After Loyola climbed back to tie the game at 34-all, Davidson crafted an 11-2 run, including a 6-0 spurt in the final 56 seconds of the first half, to lead 45-36 at the break.
After a Friedrichsen three early in the second half sparked an 8-0 run, Davidson led by double figures the rest of the way, with its lead peaking at 19.
Kymani Houinsou and Nicolus Anderson scored 13 apiece to lead Loyola.
