Blums and Scovens Lead ‘Cats Past La Salle, 71-64

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Roberts Blums scored a game-high 17 points and Josh Scovens added 16 to lead Davidson past La Salle, 71-64, in Atlantic 10 men's basketball action on Sunday afternoon inside Belk Arena.
Devin Brown also hit the 10-point plateau with 13 points in 33 minutes for the 'Cats , who improve to 18-11 and 9-7 in the league.
Davidson overcame an early double-digit deficit sparked by the Explorers' 4-of-5 start from the field, including three 3-pointers. The 'Cats would close the half with an 11-4 spurt to take a 33-27 lead into the break.
The Wildcats, who held La Salle (8-21, 4-12 A-10) to just 34 percent from the floor, pushed the lead to as many as 13 with 6:57 to play.
Truth Harris and Rob Dockery led the way for the Explorers with 17 and 15, respectively.
La Salle went 23-of-27 from the charity stripe, while the Wildcats went 13-of-21.
In addition to 37 points from their bench, the 'Cats held a 37-31 advantage on the glass.
