
'Cats Top Ramblers in OT, Advance to Meet Saint Joseph's

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Five extra minutes were necessary, but sixth-seeded Davidson topped No. 14 Loyola Chicago 64-59 in overtime Thursday evening in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament at PPG Paints Arena.
With the win, the Wildcats (20-12) advanced to face third-seeded Saint Joseph's (21-10) in Friday's quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m., while Loyola closed the campaign at 9-24.
Two late go-ahead 3-pointers from Devin Brown had the Wildcats in position to win Thursday's game in regulation, but a trey by Loyola's Kayde Dotson tied it at 56-all with 0.6 seconds remaining, forcing the extra session.
Sean Logan hit the first two shots of overtime to push the Wildcats in front, and they led the rest of the way, sealing it when a long rebound led to a Roberts Blums layup with 14 seconds left.
Blums scored a team-high 14 points to lead four Wildcats who scored in double figures, also including Josh Scovens (13), Devin Brown (11) and Logan (10). Logan added seven boards and seven blocks, while Devin Brown had a team-best eight boards, and Scovens led with five assists.
Miles Rubin scored 20 to lead the Ramblers, who led 24-19 at the half.

The Wildcats split their season series with the Hawks, as each team won on the road.
Davidson rallied from a double-digit deficit to win 62-56 in Philadelphia on Jan. 3, while the Hawks posted a 70-67 win at Davidson on March 4 behind 23 points from Jaiden Glover- Toscano.
