Wildcats Edged By Hawks in Home Finale

DAVIDSON — Davidson overcame a 15-point second-half deficit but ultimately came up short 70-67 to Saint Joseph's in the final home men's basketball game of the regular season Wednesday night in Belk Arena.
With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 18-12 and 9-8 in the Atlantic 10, while the Hawks (20-10) improved to 12-5 in the league.
Davidson trailed 57-42 with 11:45 to play following a 15-3 Hawks run, but the Wildcats answered by scoring the game's next 16 points, while holding Saint Joseph's scoreless for nine minutes, and took a 58-57 lead on Hunter Adam's jumper in the lane with 3:28 left. From there, the lead changed hands five times and for good on a go-ahead dunk by Hawks center Justice Ajogbor with 1:01 to play.
The Hawks sealed it by shooting 5-of-6 at the foul line in the final 29.3 seconds.
Sam Brown led the Wildcats with 20 points, including 18 in the second half, while Parker Friedrichsen finished with 18, 12 of which came in the game's first 7:40.
Jaiden Glover-Toscano had 23 for the Hawks, who finished with a 41-27 advantage on the boards and shot 12-of-14 at the foul line.
Saint Joseph's led 37-35 at the intermission after answering a nine-point deficit with a 14-4 run.
