
Wildcats Fall To Fordham 63-59 On The Road

THE BRONX, N.Y. – Davidson's second-half push came up short in a 63-59 loss to the Fordham Rams on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats drop to 16-11 (7-7, A-10) and the Rams improve to 16-12 (7-8, A-10).
Hunter Adam provided a spark for Davidson with a team-high eight points through the first 20 minutes. The 'Cats trailed the Rams 29-22 at halftime.
With Fordham up 48-39 and 8:56 left in second half, Davidson went on a 10-2 run over the next two and a half minutes. This was highlighted by back-to-back triples from Roberts Blums.
Later on, Parker Friedrichsen was fouled on a three-point attempt with 37 seconds left in the second half and made all three free throws. At this point, Davidson trailed 60-57. Manie Joses checked into the game with 37 seconds left and helped force a turnover with five-second call.
Fordham's Dejour Reaves drilled two clutch free throws to extend the home team's lead to 62-57. The Rams finished the contest with 18 made free throws, which helped seal the game down the stretch. Reaves went 9-for-10 from the free throw line.
Roberts Blums led the Wildcats with 16 points, highlighted by four triples. Parker Friedrichsen added 13 points. Ian Platteeuw also provided a lift for the 'Cats with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists. Platteeuw's eight points match a single-game high across conference contests this season.
Davidson shot 31.3 percent (5-for-16) from the free throw line in this game. For the 14th time this season, the Wildcats drilled 10 triples. The 'Cats shot 45.5 percent from downtown in this contest.
