
Davidson Faces Oklahoma State in NIT First Round On Tuesday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson faces Oklahoma State in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Wildcats are 20-13 (10-8) on the season and the Cowboys sit at 19-14 (6-12).

WILDCAT SCRATCHES
Davidson makes its 10th appearance in the NIT and first since 2021 (L, 75-61 vs. NC State in Round 1). The Wildcats are seeking their first victory in the NIT since March 17, 2009. That game was also Stephen Curry's last win in a Davidson uniform. Curry scored 32 points and the 'Cats beat South Carolina 70-63. Andrew Lovedale added 17 points and nine rebounds.
This is the first meeting between Oklahoma State and Davidson. The Cowboys finished 14th in the Big 12 standings. Eight teams in the Big 12 made the NCAA Tournament. During conference play, Oklahoma State ranked fourth in the league in scoring offense (78.6 PPG) and last in scoring defense (85.6 PPG).
Davidson had the best scoring defense across the A-10 during conference play (67.4 PPG) and the second best throughout the entire regular season (67.6 PPG). The 'Cats are 15-2 this season when holding an opponent to 65 points or less.
Davidson has won 20 games, which marks the most wins in a season since the 2021-22 campaign (27). It's also the most wins in a season under head coach Matt McKillop.
A-10 TOURNAMENT REVIEW
After a 64-59 victory in overtime over #14 seed Loyola Chicago, Davidson fell 70-58 to #3 seed Saint Joseph's in the A-10 Quarterfinals last Friday night. During the win in the second round, the 'Cats produced four double-digit scorers. Davidson is 8-0 this season when four or more scholar-athletes score in double digits.
Across two games, Josh Scovens and Roberts Blums led the 'Cats with 28 and 27 points respectively. Sean Logan recorded a career-high 10 points and a season-high seven blocks against Loyola Chicago

During A-10 regular season play, Sean Logan ranked fourth in the A-10 in blocks per game (2.2). The New Jersey native has 60 blocks this season and just reset the single-season program record for blocks last game. Logan previously owned the record with 58 Blocks during the '23-'24 campaign. The senior also currently ranks third in program history with 147 career blocks in 98 games. Jamie Hall ('82) is second with 159 blocks.

Parker Friedrichsen ranked sixth in the A-10 in three-point field goal percentage (42.0) during the regular season. Roberts Blums ranked seventh (41.9) during the regular season in 29 games off the bench.

During A-10 regular season play, Josh Scovens ranked fourth in FG percentage (58.7) across the A-10.
BALANCE
During the regular season, the Wildcats ranked 13th nationally in bench points per game (32.8). Nine Wildcats are averaging 15 or more minutes per game this season. Parker Friedrichsen leads the team with 25.2 minutes per game. The last time Davidson didn't have anyone average 30 or more minutes per game in a season was the 2001-02 squad.
