Saturday's game is set for Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis
After playing five games away from home, the Davidson baseball team begins a seven-game homestand — with one twist — Friday when it opens a three-game series against Lehigh.
The Wildcats will host the Mountain Hawks at Wilson Field on Friday (5 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) and meet them at 2 p.m. Saturday at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, home of the Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson is 4-7 after going 0-4 at Wake Forest last weekend, dropping two games each to the host Demon Deacons and Loyola Marymount in the three-team event.
• Outfielder Jamie Daly leads the Wildcats at the plate in his sophomore season. He's hitting .520 (13-for-25) with a 1.331 OPS, a double, a triple, a home run and five RBIs.
• Infielder Matt Manjooran leads the way with four doubles and 10 RBIs, while hitting .390 with a .932 OPS.
• Forrest Lietz (.371), Aidan Rice (.345) and Matthew Vannoy (.324) are also hitting above .300.
• On the mound, right-handers Ed Hall and Wilson Perkins set the tone with 19 and 15 strikeouts, respectively, while left-handed reliever Carson Taggart has a team-best 1.42 ERA in four appearances and 6.1 innings.
• Lefty starter Cooper Cavanaugh has a 3.00 ERA in six innings, while holding the opposition to a .143 average.
• Also on the homestand, the Wildcats will host Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, March 10 and open Atlantic 10 Conference play against Fordham March 13-15.
'CATS IN KANNAPOLIS
• This marks the sixth straight season the Wildcats have scheduled a game at Atrium Health Ballpark.
• Davidson is 3-1 on the Cannon Ballers' home field, including wins over Wofford (2021), Western Carolina (2023) and Charlotte (2024) and last season's loss to N.C. State. A 2022 contest with Appalachian State was rained out.

• Infielder Aidan Quinn is hitting a team-best .300 with a .972 OPS, two home runs and seven RBIs.
