'Cats Host Villanova at Wilson This Weekend

Home for the second straight weekend, the Davidson baseball team will host non-conference foe Villanova for three games at Wilson Field, starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The series will also include a 1:30 p.m. Saturday game and a 1 p.m. finale on Sunday.

The series marks the first matchup between the programs.

LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson is 1-3 after going 1-2 against Morehead State last weekend and most recently dropping a 24-1 contest at Charlotte on Tuesday.
• Infielders Michael O'Shaughnessy and Eli Putnam have led the offense thus far, hitting over .460.
• O'Shaughnessy is hitting .467 (7-for-15) with a 1.289 OPS, a double, a home run and a league-best eight RBIs.
• Putnam is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a 1.357 OPS, a double, a homer and four RBIs.
• Outfielder Tyler Douglas is also hitting over the .300 mark (.313).
• Left-handed freshman pitcher Cooper Cavanaugh was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, after striking out nine in 4.2 innings against Morehead State.
