OLEAN, N.Y. – In a game that featured multiple runs, 11 ties, 16 lead changes and a last-second replay, St. Bonaventure edged Davidson in overtime, 81-80, Saturday afternoon from the Reilly Center.

Trailing 81-78 in the closing seconds, the Wildcats' Connor Kochera connected on what appeared to be a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer, but after officials went to the monitor, it was ruled his foot was on the line.

Playing its third overtime contest in Atlantic 10 play this season, Davidson falls to 14-11 and 4-8 against league competition.

Tied 73-73, St. Bonaventure (17-9, 7-6 A-10) got a pair of free throws from Chad Venning with 1:44 left in the extra session to take the lead for good.

Venning was one of three Bonnies to finish with 15 points.

Kochera, who scored 16 points in the first half, led all scorers with a season-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting, including four treys to go along with 8 rebounds in 40 minutes of action. Grant Huffman stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 6 boards and 8 assists, while Reed Bailey added 13 points and 8 rebounds of his own.

In the second half, both teams led by as many as seven, including a 66-59 St. Bonaventure lead with 3:26 to play. Davidson ended regulation on a 9-2 run, once again highlighted by a Huffman runner that sent the game into overtime.

The Bonnies got to the free-throw line 30 times, making 23, while the Wildcats went 13-of-18.

Despite St. Bonaventure shooting 68.4 percent in the first half, the Wildcats closed with an 8-1 spurt capped by a Huffman layup just before the horn to make it 34-34 at the break.

The two teams traded a series of runs over the opening 20 minutes. After the Bonnies scored 10 straight to go up, 23-13, Davidson responded with nine straight of its own, highlighted by six straight from Kochera.
