Baseball Hosts Lafayette This Weekend

Winners of their last six games, the Davidson Wildcats return to the Wilson Field diamond Friday afternoon to start a three-game series with Lafayette.

The Wildcats are 14-3 and off to the best start in the modern era of the program after sweeping a doubleheader against William & Mary.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats hit four home runs and earned 11-4 and 3-1 wins over William & Mary Tuesday at Wilson Field.

Two of the home runs came off the bat of reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Ryan Wilson, while Jacob Hinderleider and Michael Carico also homered. Wilson finished the day with five RBIs and now leads the Wildcats with a .449 average, while sharing the team's home run lead (4) with Carico.

Trevor Candelaria has driven in a team-best 20 runs.

Lafayette enters 3-14 and coming off a 13-4 loss at East Tennessee State on Wednesday. The Leopards earned an 8-3 victory at UNC Asheville Tuesday, scoring five runs in the 11th to win and also own a 3-0 win over A-10 preseason favorite VCU on March 4.
