The Davidson baseball team returns to action Friday when it begins a three-game series against North Alabama.

First pitch Friday is now set for 8 p.m. (adjusted from 6 p.m. because of rain). Saturday's game will start at 2 p.m., and the series concludes Sunday with a 12 p.m. contest.

The Wildcats (6-6) are coming off a 7-4 loss to Winthrop at Charlotte's BB&T Ballpark Wednesday night.

North Alabama (3-12) is in its first season playing a full Division I schedule.

Ruben Fontes hit his fifth home run of the season in the second inning against Winthrop.

He continues to lead not only the Wildcats, but also the Atlantic 10 Conference, in that category. The sophomore has hit four home runs in the last seven games and also leads Davidson with 13 RBI, 32 total bases and has the team's only two triples.

Eric Jones turned in his seventh multi-hit game of the year with two hits against the Eagles. He's leading Davidson with a .375 average (18-for-48) and a .455 on-base percentage and is tied for the team lead with three doubles. He's hitting .462 with a .769 slugging percentage in the last three games.
