THE SERIES
• This is just the second meeting between the two teams as Davidson leads the all-time series with a 4-3 win that came in 2012 at Wilson Field.

THE 'CATS
• The Wildcats enter the weekend 10-5 on the season and are currently on a three-game win streak. The 'Cats are coming off an impressive 12-11 victory at No. 21 North Carolina on Tuesday.
• Senior Ty Middlebrooks ended the close contest against the nationally-ranked Tar Heels with an impressive one-handed catch that clinched the victory for Davidson.
• The outfielder's catch not only clinched the game, but found its way to No. 1 on SportCenter. And is currently still in the running for ESPN's Best of the Best. Go vote for Middlebrooks' catch here.
• Second baseman Sam Foy leads the Wildcats with a .377 batting average, seven runs, 23 hits and five walks in 61 at bats.
• On the mound, Clark Beeker leads the team with a 2.70 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. He is projected to start Friday.

THE EXPLORERS
• The Explorers enter this weekend 9-10 overall and are currently on a three-game win streak.
• La Salle is coming off a 20-14 win at Delaware State Tuesday night. Ethan Springston led the Explorers with a three-homerun performance against the Hornets.
• Outfielder Justin Korenblatt leads the squad with a .427 batting average, 19 runs, 35 hits, three home runs, 21 RBI and 10 walks with 82 at bats.
• On the mound, Luke Reilly – who is expected to start Friday – leads the team with a 2.04 earned run average, allowing 11 hits, four earned runs, six walks and 17 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched.
• La Salle was picked to finish 10th in the Atlantic 10 after going 14-34-1 last season.

LAST TIME OUT
• After jumping out to a 10-0 lead, Davidson held on for a 12-11 upset win over No. 21 North Carolina, snapping a 27-game winless streak against the Tar Heels in the all-time series Tuesday night at Boshamer Stadium.
• The Wildcats were up 12-5 heading into the ninth inning, but the Tar Heels went on a six-run streak before senior Ty Middlebrooks saved the game with a one-handed catch in left field.
• The win marked the first time since April 2, 1987 that the Wildcats defeated UNC and the first victory in Chapel Hill since 1972. Davidson's 12 runs are the most scored against an ACC opponent since May 4, 2010 when it defeated Virginia Tech, 14-10, in Blacksburg.

MIDDLEBROOKS SAVES THE DAY
• With two outs and two on in the bottom of the ninth, the 11th batter of the inning for North Carolina drove a ball that looked like it could reach the left field fence for a Tar Heel come-from-behind win, but Wildcat senior Ty Middlebrooks was there to make a one-handed catch that clinched the 12-11 upset win over nationally-ranked North Carolina.
• Middlebrooks' catch made it all the way to SportsCenter's No. 1 play and is still in the running for ESPN's Best of the Best.
