DAYTON, Ohio – The Davidson volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at Dayton Friday evening. The defeat came by set scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-14.
Ciera Cockrell paced Davidson (8-12, 2-4 A-10) with five kills, while Mason Rooney chipped in four of her own. Mikayla Derochie and Sabrina Shepherd contributed three kills apiece. Rooney dished out nine assists, while Morgan Shannon added seven digs. Emily Franklin and Rooney each notched a block.
Dayton (14-5, 7-0 A-10) was led by Alaina Turner's 13-kill effort and a .545 hitting percentage. Amber Erhahon chipped in nine strikes, while Jill Loiars put six kills away. Jane Emmenecker handed out 38 assists, while Janna Krafka tallied 14 digs. The Flyers registered 10 team blocks, thanks to six blocks from Erhahon.
The Wildcats return to action Sunday at Saint Louis. The match is set for 2 p.m.
