'Cats Win on Senior Day to Close Out Regular Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson volleyball team closed out the regular season with a four-set victory over Saint Louis on Saturday afternoon.
After a 25-23 loss in the first set, the 'Cats responded and won the second set 29-27. Davidson fought off a major run from Saint Louis late in the second frame. The Billikens trailed 24-19 and won five straight points. With the score 27-27, Jackie Bardin and Mia Compas recorded kills and Davidson tied the match up at a set apiece.
Davidson took the third set 25-21. The Wildcats led 20-19 and closed the frame on a 5-2 run.
Saint Louis led 16-12 in the fourth set, but Davidson rallied and went on a 7-2 run. This was highlighted by two kills from Jackie Bardin. The senior also added a block assist during this run. The 'Cats won the fourth frame 25-20.
All four seniors made an impact on the match to close out their careers. Jackie Bardin recorded a season-high 13 kills, added 11 digs, two service aces, and two block assists. Jordan Hummel logged 15 digs. Anna Withee registered eight kills with a .286 hitting percentage. Emma Slusser had seven kills, three block assists, and four digs.
Cayla Weisner and Mia Compas also made a significant mark on the match. The two middle blockers combined for 17 kills and only four errors.
