Davidson Drops Road Contest Against Dayton

DAYTON, OHIO - Davidson dropped a road contest against the Dayton Flyers on Saturday afternoon (23-25, 19-25, 12-25). Despite the loss, Melanie Tilles was efficient with six kills on just nine swings and setter Kinsey Smith recorded a double double (19 assists, 10 digs).
The Wildcats led 23-21 in the first set, but the Flyers responded with four straight points to win the frame.
Both teams struggled on offense in the second set. Davidson posted a .129 hitting percentage and Dayton had a .214 hitting percentage. The Wildcats only trailed 20-19 in the second frame, but the Flyers went on a run and scored the next five points.
The Flyers closed out the match with a team hitting percentage of .375 in the third set.
Kamryn Hunt led Dayton with 13 kills. For the second straight match, Ariyana Johnson led Davidson with 12 kills.

Davidson returns home next Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3 against George Mason. First serve on Friday is at 7 p.m. and then 2 p.m. on Saturday.
