'Cats Cruise to Four-Set Win Over Saint Louis

DAVIDSON, N.C. – On the eve of Senior Day, the Davidson volleyball team took down Saint Louis in four sets on Friday night. Ellie Ocampo recorded a career-high 13 kills with a .409 hitting percentage and added six digs.

The Wildcats led 19-13 in the opening set, but the Billikens fought back and took the lead 22-21. Davidson ultimately pushed past Saint Louis 25-23.

Saint Louis responded and won the second set 25-20.

Davidson trailed 6-3 in the third set and then went on a 5-0 run. This was sparked by Ellie Ocampo who registered back-to-back kills in this stretch. Anna Withee was a huge part of the offense in this frame with four kills. The senior added a block assist as well. The 'Cats took the third set 25-19.

Ocampo led the Wildcats with six kills, a service ace, and a block assist in the fourth set. Davidson won the fourth frame 25-13.

Davidson finished the match with a .261 team hitting percentage. Jackie Bardin posted a season-high 11 kills with a .258 hitting percentage. Bardin also logged a season-high 15 digs. This is the senior's first double double of the season. Mia Compas was very efficient with eight kills and a .636 hitting percentage. Anna Withee also contributed with eight kills, zero errors, and a .500 hitting percentage.

Ylame Dsamou and Kinsey Smith combined for 44 assists. Jordan Hummel recorded 15 digs.
