Wildcats Earn AVCA Team Academic Award For Eleventh Straight Year

LEXINGTON, KY – For the 11th straight year, the Davidson volleyball program earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. This is the longest active streak by any A-10 volleyball program.
"I'm proud of our team's consistent performance in the classroom," said head coach Chris Willis. "At Davidson, our women are able to explore their academic interests at the highest level and experience success which lays the foundation for their future success."
To qualify for this award, the team must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Wildcats compiled a 3.62 GPA throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
The 'Cats are also one of 55 Division I programs with a streak of 10 years or longer to earn this recognition.
The AVCA also celebrates programs in the top 20 percent for their division by recognizing them with the Team Academic Honor Roll distinction. Davidson received AVCA Honor Roll recognition four times during this strong 11-year stretch (2021, 2023, 2024, 2025).
