Davidson Wins Third Straight, Takes Down George Washington in Four Sets

DAVIDSON, NC – The Wildcats won their third straight after a four-set victory on Saturday night against George Washington.
Davidson took the first set 25-11. That's the largest margin of victory for the team in a set this season. Elena Garcia-Guerrios had seven kills and zero errors during this span. The Wildcats posted a .520 hitting percentage and only had one error as a team in this first set. Davidson's side-out percentage was also very impressive at 82%.
In the second set, Davidson won 25-16 over George Washington. The team recorded a .448 hitting percentage and only had two errors in the frame. After the Revolutionaries grabbed the third set 25-22, the Wildcats responded in a big way. Davidson won the fourth set 25-16.
Elena Garcia-Guerrios led the way with 20 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. This is the fourth time this season the junior has posted 20 or more kills in a match. Emma Slusser was also very efficient with eight kills, zero errors, and a .615 hitting percentage. Cayla Weisner and Mia Compas combined for 12 kills and both had a hitting percentage above .300 on the night.
The Wildcats were also strong at the net and out blocked the Revolutionaries 10-6.
