Baseball Splits Results at La Salle

The Wildcats, now 10-10 overall and 2-3 in the A-10, finished off the darkness-delayed series opener with a 17-13 victory before La Salle (10-12, 1-4) won the regularly scheduled second series game 8-2.
To start the day, right-hander Jacob Vokal entered a two-on, two-out situation in the bottom of the eighth, with Davidson leading 17-13. He worked the final 1.1 innings without issue to close it out and earn the save.
The Wildcats built their lead Friday thanks to early three-run home runs by Anthony Torreso and Forrest Lietz. Torreso finished 4-for-5 at the plate, while Matt Manjooran was 3-for-5 and drove in five runs, including two on a seventh-inning triple. Will Brooks also hit an RBI-triple in the fourth, while Theo Loughlin doubled and drew four walks.
In Saturday's second game, Loughlin's RBI-single highlighted a two-run second inning. But the Explorers did most of their damage with a six-run fourth, which included a Daniel Perez grand slam.
Manjooran (triple) and Fredy Diaz (double) had two hits apiece to lead the Wildcats.
Reliever Brycen Champey threw 3.2 innings, allowing three hits and one earned run and striking out four.
