'Cats Held Hitless in Loss at La Salle

PHILADELPIA — Three La Salle pitchers combined for a no-hitter in a 10-1 series-clinching win over Davidson at DeVincent Field Sunday afternoon.
With their second loss of the weekend, the Wildcats fell to 10-11 overall and 2-4 in the Atlantic 10.
It's the first no-hitter the Wildcats have been involved in since April 13, 2012, when Wildcats freshman Henry Sisson threw one in a 1-0 win over Wofford.
La Salle pitchers Kross Howarth (3.2 IP, 5 Ks), Josh Beck (2.1 IP, 2 Ks) and Titus Shay (3.0 IP, 6 Ks) combined for the no-hitter.
Four Wildcats reached base Sunday, all via walks and all in the fourth inning. Matthew Vannoy, Jamie Daly and Anthony Torreso loaded the bases with consecutive walks, and after two outs were recorded, Theo Loughlin's base-on-balls brought in Vannoy.
La Salle (11-12, 2-4) built a 6-0 lead through three innings, highlighted by a four-run second.
