
Blums Nets Career-High, ‘Cats Hit 14 Threes in Bounce-Back Win at George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In addition to Roberts Blums scoring a career-high 21 points, Davidson canned 14-of-25 3-pointers en route to an 84-79 victory at George Washington in Atlantic 10 men's basketball Wednesday night.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Blums finished 7-of-13 from the floor, including six treys. The sophomore was joined in double figures by Devin Brown's season-high 17 points, Parker Friedrichsen (14) and Josh Scovens (13), who also added eight rebounds and four assists.
Davidson, which shot 52 percent and handed out 20 assists on 28 made field goals, improves to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Defensively, the Wildcats finished with 10 blocks, while holding the Revolutionaries to a 40.3 percent clip.
Davidson used a 21-7 run to erase an early deficit and lead by 15 in the opening 20 minutes before taking a 36-28 advantage into the half.
Blums and Brown hit the 10-point plateau before intermission with 12 and 11 points, respectively, while combining to make six of the Wildcats' seven treys in the period.
Highlighted by three straight triples, including two from Friedrichsen, the Wildcats opened the second half with an 11-3 spurt pushing margin to as many as 17.
Rafael Castro finished with a game-high 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead the way for George Washington (12-6, 3-2 A-10).
