Washington State is projected to finish sixth in this year's West Coast Conference Preseason Poll. The Cougars return Tomas Thrastarson, who was named to the 2024-25 WCC All-Freshman Team, and also bring back ND Okafor, an efficient lower-post presence. Okafor's 62.3 percent field-goal mark last season was the fifth-best single-season percentage in program history.
ROSTER BREAKDOWN
The Wildcats have eight newcomers on this year's roster. The transfers are Sam Brown (Penn), Josh Scovens (Army), JQ Roberts (Vanderbilt), and Parker Friedrichsen (Wake Forest).
The current freshman class features RJ Greer (Dad is Associate HC at Dayton), Devin Brown (2025 High School State Champion), and Ian Platteeuw (2025 U18 EuroBasket MVP for Spain).
John Nowland is the eighth newcomer and was previously a student manager with the team.
The 'Cats return eight scholar-athletes. Davidson brings back only 16 percent of its scoring offense (383 out of 2,393 points).
