Wildcats Visit A-10 Foe Dayton This Weekend

Davidson will begin the second half of the 24-game Atlantic 10 Conference baseball schedule on the road at Dayton this weekend.

The Wildcats and Flyers will begin the fifth of their eight league series on Friday afternoon, with afternoon games to follow on Saturday and Sunday.

LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• Davidson is 17-22 overall and 4-8 in the A-10.
• The Wildcats have won three of their last four games, including two of three in last weekend's league series against Richmond.
• Also in A-10 play, the Wildcats won two of three against Saint Joseph's and were swept at VCU and Saint Louis.
• Davidson is coming off a 16-11 win over N.C. A&T on Tuesday night when the Wildcats hit a season-high six home runs, including two by Eli Putnam, the reigning A-10 Player of the Week.
• Putnam leads the A-10 with 12 home runs and has hit five in the last five games.
• The junior first baseman is also the A-10 leader with 46 RBIs, 102 total bases and a .689 slugging percentage. He also ranks second with a 1.155 OPS and 44 runs and third with a .365 average.

• Right-hander Wilson Perkins, the reigning A-10 Pitcher of the Week, threw a complete game against Richmond last Friday. It was the program's first in two years.
• The Wildcats lead the A-10 with 1.23 home runs per game and are second with 48 total home runs.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton is 25-15 overall and 7-4 in the A-10, tied for second with VCU, a half-game back of league-leading Saint Louis.
• Dayton and VCU split their series last weekend and had one game canceled due to rain.
• Also in A-10 play, the Flyers went 2-1 against Fordham, St. Bonaventure and George Mason.
• The Flyers have one of the top offenses in the league, leading the A-10 in hits (416), runs (338), home runs (49), walks (218) and on-base percentage (.425) and ranking second in average (.303), runs per game (8.5) and slugging percentage (.483).
