
Wildcats Welcome Dayton in A-10 Play This Weekend

PROMOTIONS
• This weekend is Baseball, Beer, and Birdies Weekend. Saturday, there will be a beer garden on the first base patio featuring FREE NoDa beers for fans 21 and older. There will also be a putting competition, where fans will have the opportunity to win Davidson golf prizes and tickets to the upcoming Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte. Free Davidson Baseball koozies will be given out throughout the weekend, while supplies last.Â
Four Atlantic 10 Conference teams have won two series thus far, and two of them will meet this weekend at Wilson Field when Davidson hosts Dayton.

The series begins Friday at 5:30 p.m., with early afternoon games set for Saturday and Sunday.

The Wildcats enter 19-12 overall and 5-1 in the A-10, tied atop the standings with Saint Louis. Dayton is 4-2 in league play, tied with Saint Joseph's.

Davidson has won four of its last five games and 11 of its previous 13.
LATEST ON THE 'CATS
• This is the Wildcats' ninth series of the season and seventh at home.
• The Wildcats are seeking their sixth series victory (Lafayette, Marist, Tennessee Tech, Fordham, UMass). The Wildcats are 10-2 in their last four series.
• In A-10 play, Davidson went 2-1 against Fordham and swept UMass last weekend.
• Outfielder Ryan Wilson continues to set the offensive standard in the A-10. He's the league leader in home runs (14), on-base percentage (.523), slugging percentage (.857), OPS (1.380), runs scored (44) and hit-by-pitches. He also ranks second with 39 RBIs, fifth with a .384 batting average and is tied for fifth with 11 doubles and 43 hits.
• Second baseman Jack Cotrone also ranks among the league's offensive leaders. He's tied for second with nine home runs, is third in on-base percentage (.670) and OPS (1.154) and ninth in average (.351).
• Third baseman Nick Calero has drawn a team-best 31 walks, which is second in the A-10. He's also scored 32 runs, which is fifth-best. Catcher Jacob Friend is fourth in walks (26).
• Shortstop Jacob Hinderleider has driven in 33 runs, fifth-best in the league.Â
• Right-hander Will Schomberg has been leading the way from the mound. The Wildcats' Friday starter, Schomberg is 5-1 with a 2.55 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 42.1 innings. He's second in the A-10 in opponents' batting average (.183), third in ERA and fifth with 45 strikeouts.
• Right-hander Bennett Flynn, utilized as both a starter and reliever, is third in the league with 50 strikeouts.
• Schomberg and left-hander Ryan Feczko are slated to start the series' first two games, with Sunday's starter to-be-determined.
