4/10/2023 4:54:00 PM | Baseball

Davidson will play the first of two midweek games against Atlantic Coast Conference foes Tuesday when the Wildcats visit Duke at 6 p.m.

The game will be held at the Blue Devils' on-campus facility, Jack Coombs Field.

LATEST ON THE 'CATS
The Wildcats improved to 19-11 overall and 5-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 14-6 win at UMass Sunday afternoon. It completed Davidson's second series sweep of the season (also Tennessee Tech) and its 11th win in the last 12 contests.

Junior outfielder Ryan Wilson continues to be a model of consistency. He leads the A-10 in home runs (14), on-base percentage (.514), slugging percentage (.844), OPS (1.358), runs scored (44) and hit-by-pitches (19). He's currently second in the league with 39 RBIs and fifth with a .367 average.

Next Tuesday, the Wildcats will face ACC foe NC State in Charlotte.

SERIES NOTES
Davidson and Duke first met on the diamond in 1902, making the series one of the program's oldest. Duke has won the last three meetings, including 11-2 in Davidson last season.

The Wildcats' last win in the series was a 7-6 victory on March 10, 2020, when Brett Centracchio hit a walk-off home run.

The Blue Devils are coached by former Davidson pitcher and assistant coach Chris Pollard '96, who is in his 11th season in Durham.
