WILDCAT SCRATCHES

Davidson begins a three-game conference road swing Saturday with a noon tip at George Mason.
This marks the first time since joining the Atlantic 10, the Wildcats have played three straight league games away from home.
The last time Davidson played three straight conference road games was during the 2011-12 campaign in the Southern Conference.
The Wildcats enter 9-8 overall and 2-3 in A-10 play following a 61-57 setback to Richmond Wednesday night.
Davidson has won the last five meetings against Mason and leads the all-time series, 8-2.
Since joining the A-10 in 2014-15, Davidson has won two regular season titles (2015, 2022), a tournament title (2018), made three NCAA Tournaments (2015, 2018, 2022) and totaled 93 league wins (11.3 per year).
The Wildcats have recorded an average finish of 4.0 in the 15-team conference and made the tournament semifinals each year.
Preseason all-conference selection Foster Loyer continues to lead the 'Cats in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game.
The red-shirt senior enters just 32 points shy of 1,000 for his career. He would become the 54th player in school history and fourth transfer to hit the milestone.
Loyer ranks among league leaders in scoring (16.1/8th), 3-pointers made (39/8th), free-throw percentage (.895/1st), 3-pointers per game (2.3/8th), assists per game (4.9/3rd) and steals per game (1.8/4th).
Loyer and teammate David Skogman (.878) rank 1-2 in the league in free-throw percentage.
Coming off a career-high 16 rebounds and third double-double of 2022-23, Sam Mennenga is also contributing double figures (15.6 ppg) for the 'Cats, while leading the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg).
Mennenga ranks among A-10 leaders in both scoring (17th) and rebounding (7th) categories.
Sophomore Desmond Watson is averaging 11.6 points over his last 11 games.

An 11-0 run helped the Davidson Wildcats get within range of Richmond Wednesday night, but the Spiders held off their charge to leave Belk Arena with a 61-57 Atlantic 10 Conference victory.
After starting the night with a 6-0 lead, the Wildcats trailed the rest of the way and fell behind 52-37 after a 14-2 Spiders' run midway through the second half. But Davidson pulled within four with 11 straight points, including 3-pointers from Connor Kochera and Desmond Watson and a Sam Mennenga dunk.
A Grant Huffman layup cut it to 59-57 with 25.9 seconds left, but Richmond extended its lead to the final margin with two free throws from Tyler Burton to seal it.
Mennenga finished with a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 11 points, while Watson had 13 points and nine rebounds. Huffman also scored 11.
For Richmond, Burton scored a game-high 17 to go with 12 boards, and Jason Nelson hit four treys en route to 16 points.
