'Cats Drop Series Opener at VCU

With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 19-11 overall and 3-2 in the Atlantic 10.
Garrett Browder and Fedje-Johnson hit back-to-back doubles in the third inning to produce the Wildcats' first run. Fedje-Johnson then doubled in Jacob Hinderleider in the seventh.
Candelaria went deep for the sixth time this year with a solo blast to left in the eighth.
Four players homered Friday for VCU, which improved to 18-14 and 2-3 in the A-10.

The Wildcats and Rams will play two on Saturday, with the doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
