Fresh off a series sweep to open the season, the Davidson baseball team returns to action Wednesday night against N.C. Central.

First pitch at Wilson Field is set for 6 p.m.

The Wildcats (3-0) defeated Lehigh by scores of 5-4, 10-2 and 10-3 this past weekend and are set to play their first 11 games at home.

Imwalle off to hot start
Senior infielder Walker Imwalle led the Wildcats' offense against Lehigh, hitting .417 with three extra base hits, including a triple, which was the team's first hit of the season. He also scored four runs and drove in four, while slugging .750.

Fellow senior captains Brett Centracchio and Matt Frey also had four hits on the weekend.

Starters produce
Davidson's trio of sophomore right-handed starting pitchers delivered in the opening series.

Gabe Levy, Blake Hely and Alex Fenton combined to throw 19 innings with a 1.42 ERA and held their opponents to a .208 average (15-for-72). They struck out 22, with Levy leading the way with 10.

Freshman influence
The class of 2023 contributed right out of the gate in 2020.

Jacob Hinderleider started all three games at shortstop and drove in four runs, including three on a double, while Garrett Browder started one game at catcher and had an RBI-single.

Jacob Peaden, Bennett Flynn, Nolan DeVos and Will Schomberg all made their debuts out of the bullpen, with Peaden recording a win and a save and DeVos earning a save.
