'Cats Return Home to Host Furman For Three-Game Series

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson baseball team returns home to host former conference rival Furman for a weekend series starting Friday night at 6 p.m. The 'Cats have hosted four of the last five weekend series and will begin a seven-game homestand at Wilson Field.
The Wildcats (7-9) hold a 6-4 record at Wilson Field this season, winning series against Georgetown and Lafayette. Davidson is coming off a loss at No. 12 South Carolina on Wednesday. Jake Sidwell leads the squad with 12 hits, including two doubles, and four RBI for a .273 batting average. On the mound, Beeker leads the team with a 2.17 ERA, allowing 10 runs of 25 hits with 23 strikeouts in a team-high 29.0 innnings.
Furman (8-8) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 9-7 win over College of Charleston Tuesday night. Jordan Simpson leads the Paladins with 23 hits, including three homeruns, and 16 RBI for a .377 batting average. On the mound, Gaddis leads the squad with a 3.55 ERA, allowing 11 runs off 20 hits in a team-high 25.1 innings.
