Tovsky’s Five RBI Lifts Wildcats Over Furman, 15-4

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Senior Aaron Tovsky went 2-for-4 with five RBI to lead the Davidson baseball team to a 15-4 victory over Furman Friday night at Wilson Field.
The designated hitter doubled twice batting in two on both occasions, including a two-RBI double down the right line that allowed Davidson (8-9) to take a 6-4 lead in the sixth. The Wildcats went on to score nine unanswered runs in the seventh to secure the victory.
Davidson outhit Furman, 15-7, while each team committed two errors. Lee Miller led both teams with three hits, including a lead off homerun in the fifth, while four other Wildcats recorded two-hit performances.
Clark Beeker started the first eight innings, allowing four runs - one earned - off six hits with six strikeouts. The senior silenced Furman (8-9) in his final three innings, retiring nine-straight batters and only allowing two Paladin hits to remain undefeated with a 4-0 record.
Peyton Hopkins closed out the victory and allowed just one hit in the ninth.
Will Gaddis was the first of six Paladins to appear on the mound, allowing six runs - four earned - off six hits with four strikeouts for the loss. Furman walked seven Wildcats, including four in the seventh in addition to two hit batters.
