CHARLESTON, S.C. – De'Mon Brooks scored a career-high 26 points to go along with nine rebounds, and Davidson held off a late charge by The Citadel in a 77-66 Southern Conference men's basketball victory Thursday night in McAlister Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs worked the margin down to 14 points late in the frame, but Davidson had the ball last and ran a play for Czerapowicz, who got a dunk and was fouled. The sophomore hit the free throw to put Davidson ahead 38-21 at the break.
The lead grew to as many as 22 points in the second half before The Citadel used a 15-3 run to get back in the contest.
Davidson shot 46 percent from the floor in the game, including 52 percent in the second half, but the Wildcats committed 17 turnovers, which led to 19 Bulldog points.
The 'Cats held The Citadel to 32 percent shooting in the first stanza and 3-for-18 from 3-point range in the contest.
Davidson returns to action Saturday when the Wildcats take on the College of Charleston in TD Arena. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be televised live on ESPN3 and the SoCon TV Network.
