• Because Chattanooga was out of timeouts, Cochran intentionally missed the second free throw, and Keegan Bell's 65-foot heave at the buzzer was short.
• Bell had tied the game on the Mocs' previous trip down the floor by hitting a 35-foot 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left. Davidson called timeout and set up a play. Cochran got the ball at the free-throw line extended on the left side of the court and dribbled down the left side.

Meanwhile, Davidson's defense held the Mocs to 10-of-32 from the floor and 4-of-18 from long distance. Cochran's point total was part of a Davidson bench that outscored Chattanooga 29-7.
• Clinging to a one-point lead in the second half, Clint Mann's layup ignited a 21-3 run to open a 60-41 cushion with 8:42 remaining.
