Layup Line
• The Wildcats host Rhode Island in a Saturday afternoon contest at John M. Belk Arena.
• It's the last contest of a two-game homestand before Davidson plays five of its next six on the road.
• It's also the last game of a stretch in which Davidson has played five games in 10 days.
• Including his 15 years as a head high school coach on Long Island, Bob McKillop will be coaching his 950th career game today.
• 605 of those contest have come as the head coach at Davidson.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 78-37 win over Fredonia State in their home opener Wednesday.
• Rhode Island is coming off a 75-58 home victory over Stony Brook Tuesday.
• This will be the second road game of the season for the Rams, who won their season opener 78-57 at Brown.
• This is the second of three Atlantic 10 opponents Davidson will play this year.
• The 'Cats lost 84-70 to La Salle in the Charleston Classic and host UMass Dec. 30.
• Rhode Island was picked eighth in the A-10 Preseason Poll, UMass was picked ninth and La Salle was picked fourth behind Dayton, Xavier and Richmond.
The Wish Tree
• In conjunction with the Alexander Youth Network, Davidson will have a Wish Tree in the lobby of the Baker Sports Complex for both home games this week.
• Each ornament on the tree contains a Christmas gift wish from an underprivileged child. Fans take the wish, go out and buy the gift and place it under the tree for the child by Dec. 17.
• In addition, each Davidson athletic team will be donating Christmas gifts to a child from the Alexander Youth Network.
Series History
• The Wildcats and Rams have not met since the 1966 NCAA Tournament, when Davidson posted a 95-65 victory in the first round of the East Regional.
• That was Davidson's first appearance and first victory in the NCAA Tournament in school history.
Leftovers from Fredonia State
• It was the first meeting between Davidson and Fredonia State on the hardwood and the third straight game Davidson has played an opponent for the first time.
• Cohen's 18 points were a career high, and Kuhlman matched his career high scoring total.
• The Wildcats have now won 18-straight Belk Arena openers.
• The 37 points allowed was the second fewest in the modern era.
• Aaron Bond has decided to leave the men's basketball program. He played in 13 career games and averaged 1.7 points and 0.5 rebounds a contest.

• After posting a 9-17 record in Belk Arena its first two seasons, Davidson has recorded a 197-44 (.817 winning percentage)?mark there in the last 19, including two undefeated campaigns.
• Overall, Davidson boasts a 206-61 (.771) record in Belk Arena and has won 30 of its last 33.
• Following the 2007-08 season, Davidson doubled its number of season ticket holders from about 2,000 to about 4,000.
• The Wildcats sold out the building 13 times in 2008-09. Davidson has sold out Belk Arena in 14 of the last 17 contests, dating back to the 2007-08 season.
• The 'Cats have won 19 of their last 20 against non-conference competition at Belk Arena and are 27-4 since 2003.
