RICHMOND, Va. — Davidson hitters were limited to three hits in a 6-1 loss at Atlantic 10 foe VCU Sunday afternoon.
With the Rams' third win of the weekend, the Wildcats fell to 14-17 overall and 2-4 in the A-10. VCU improved to 22-10 and 5-1 in the league.
Sunday's game was a pitchers' duel most of the way, but the Rams added four runs in the eighth to blow it open.
Davidson's lone run came in the next half inning. Noah Jouras led off the ninth with a walk, moved to third on a Jacob Friend double and then scored on an Eli Putnam groundout to third.
Jouras doubled to lead off the game, and Jake Wilhoit added a single in the sixth.
Starter Ryan Feczko threw 4.1 innings, allowed four hits and one earned run, walked four and struck out five.
