Putnam's Hit Lifts 'Cats Past Saint Joseph's

Putnam came to the plate with one out and the bases loaded, and his deep drive to left allowed Aidan Rice to come in from third, setting off a wild celebration as Putnam ran past first and into right field.
Rice had reached on a single and was then joined on base by Noah Jouras (hit-by-pitch) and Jacob Friend (walk).
Friend got Davidson (12-13) on the board with a solo home run in the third, walked in a run in the fourth and he stole home as part of a double steal in the eighth. Davidson had a four-run fourth, also including a Jack Cotrone RBI-single and a two-RBI Putnam single.
Nick Calero's RBI-sacrifice fly pushed Davidson ahead 6-5 in the seventh, and Cider Canon's bases-loaded walk in the eighth.
Saint Joseph's rallied with three runs in the top of the ninth, tying the game at 8-8.
Starter Wilson Perkins threw 6.2 innings, allowed six hits and four earned runs and struck out seven.
Jason Ban came on in the top of the ninth, with the go-ahead run on base, and got the final two outs, while earning his first win.
