Wildcats Drop Narrow 1-0 Loss at Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Davidson women's soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 match to Campbell on the road Sunday.
The loss moves the Wildcats' overall record to 2-4 while the Camels improve to 2-2-1.
The difference maker to a very evenly matched contest came in just the eighth minute of the first half when Sage Dougherty scored the game's lone goal of the afternoon.
Goal aside, both teams played almost identical as they each took nine shots, Davidson landing three on goal and Campbell four. Additionally, each goalkeeper made three saves and the Camels took six corner kicks while the Wildcats were awarded five.
Davidson as of late has seen its roster share the action on offense as six players compiled its nine total shots in Annaliese Mann (2 shots on goal), Riley Patton (2 shots), Katy Talotta (2 shots, 1 on goal), Phoebe Fowler (1 shot), Aleia Gisolfi-McCready (1 shot) and Brooke Roumy (1 shot).
Olivia Bestic, a freshman midfielder posted her fifth 90-minute showing this season as she has played all but three minutes of a possible 540 so far.
The Wildcats return home to start a four-game bout at Alumni Stadium as they start by hosting Winthrop Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
