RICHMOND, Va. — Jess Moylan scored in the 10th minute to lift Richmond to a 1-0 victory over Davidson in Atlantic 10 women's soccer play Sunday at President's Field.
The loss was the third straight for the Wildcats, who fell to 5-7-2 overall and 1-4-1 in A-10 play. Richmond improved to 7-2-5 overall and 2-2-2 in conference action.
Following the early goal, Davidson goalkeeper Grace Stair kept the Wildcats within a goal during heavy initial pressure from the Spiders, making five of her seven saves in the first half.
Reese Montgomery, Madelyn Hayes and Samantha McGee each put a shot on target for Davidson, but the Wildcats were unable to generate sustained offensive pressure on a rainy afternoon.
Richmond finished with a 12-6 advantage in total shots, an 8-3 edge in shots on goal and a 9-2 margin in corner kicks. Veronica Rrapi and Isabel Seifert combined for three saves to secure the shutout for the Spiders.
