NEW YORK — Senior Kiera Pohan scored two goals to lead the Davidson College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Fordham on Sunday afternoon in the Bronx

.

The Wildcats earned their first Atlantic 10 win of the season, moving to 1-1-1 in conference play and 5-4-2 overall

. Fordham fell to 0-3 in the A-10 and 3-6-1 overall

.

Both teams endured persistent rain throughout the match

. Davidson struck first in the 25th minute when Pohan received a pass from Sophia Whiddon and kicked it on the fly into the back of the net

.

Pohan added her second goal early in the second half after intercepting an errant pass to the Fordham goalkeeper and tapping in her third goal of the season

. Pohan, Madelyn Hayes and Adriana Dunat share the team lead with three goals on the season, while Whiddon leads the Wildcats with three assists

.

The Rams cut the deficit in the 67th minute when Edit Mare scored on a penalty kick following a handball in the box

.

Davidson held off Fordham for the remainder of the match

. The Rams led in total shots (10-9) and shots on target (7-4)

. Grace Stair made six saves in goal for the Wildcats
