Wildcats Set for First Half of Four-Game Home Slate

DAVIDSON N.C. - The Davidson women's soccer team will open a four-game home stretch when it welcomes Winthrop 7 p.m. Thursday and Presbyterian 2 p.m. Sunday (Senior Day) at Alumni Stadium. 

SUNDAY vs. PRESBYTERIAN 
The Wildcats will honor their five-member senior class of Shea Bonacci, Brooke Ditcham, Phoebe Fowler, Riley Patton and Emma Peddrick for their contributions to the program over their careers. Sunday's match will also serve as a "White-Out" game for fans. 

"We are excited to be back on Alumni Stadium for a long stretch of home games, including our Senior Day on Sunday" said head coach Riley Piechnick. "As a team we have been doing some good things on the field in the past couple of games that haven't been reflected in the results. I think this week of games will be a great opportunity to start putting the whole picture together before starting conference pay next week." 

Davidson enters the fourth week of the season with a 2-4 record and will search for its first win at Alumni Stadium. 

Leading the way for the Wildcats' offense is Aleia Gisolfi McCready with four points via two goals. Following is Patton who has netted one goal. Ditcham and Lilly Lovell have also each tallied a point this year on an assist. 

Emily Smith, Davidson's trusted starter in goal, still ranks among the top 10 goalkeepers in the Atlantic 10 as she is sixth in goals against average (1.00) and saves (21) while ranking seventh in save percentage (.778) and 10th in saves per game (3.5). 

Smith commands a back line that has allowed the sixth-least amount of goals in the conference with six. 

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Winthrop arrives at Alumni Stadium with a 3-1-1 record, having won its last three games since its lone loss against Western Carolina. 

As a team, the Eagles average four goals per game and land .696 percent of their shots on target. 

Commanding the Winthrop offense is Sophia Balliet with nine points on four goal sand one assist to go along with a .714 shots on goal percentage. 

Following are Abbie McCrea and Bryn Radvanski with eight points each while six other Eagles have netted a goal this season. 

In goal for Winthrop is Izzy Giarrizzi who has tallied 20 saves with a 1.84 GAA and .690 save percentage and one shutout. 

Davidson is 6-1 against Winthrop dating back to the 2009 season. The Wildcats are 3-0 when hosting the Eagles and holds a scoring advantage of 13-3 while forcing five shutouts. 

SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
Presbyterian has a 1-4-1 record while averaging 10.7 shots per game. 

The Blue Hose are led on offense by Lindsey Malyszek with four points on two goals. Three additional Presbyterian players have scored a goal this season in Lina-Marie Muller, Mia Prieto and Sloan Spees. 

Goalkeeper Kelly Hall has made 17 saves while having a 1.41 GAA and .680 save percentage. 

The Wildcats are 3-0 against The Blue Hose dating back to 2010. The 'Cats has allowed Presbyterian to score just two goals against them while having netted seven of their own.
