Wildcats Fall 1-0 to St. Bonaventure

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson College women's soccer team fell 1-0 in an Atlantic 10 Conference match Sunday versus St. Bonaventure.Â
With the loss, the Wildcats' record moves to 3-5-1 overall and 0-1-1 in A-10 competition. The Bonnies record improves to 2-2-5 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.Â
After playing to a scoreless first half, a 55th minute St. Bonaventure goal would seal the deal as Olivia Allen had her initial shot blocked by Emily Smith but the deflection took a bounce in the Bonnies favor to find the foot of McKenna Robinson who netted the goal.Â
Davidson was in heavy pursuit of the equalizer as it took nine shots over the second half of play, landing four attempts on goal. However, the 'Cats were not able to convert on their attempts, leading to a 1-0 St. Bonaventure win.Â
Freshman Ella Barnes paced the Davidson attack with four total shots, two of which were on target. Brooke Ditcham and Savannah Pruitt each landed one shot on goal while Shea Bonacci, Alli Jacobson and Charlotte Snead rounded out Wildcat players to take a shot in the game.Â
Over 90 minutes of action, Smith allowed one goal while making three saves.Â
In her first career start for the 'Cats, Annaliese Mann played the entire 90 minutes of the match as part of the Davidson back line.Â
For the game, the Wildcats held advantages in shots (9-6) and corner kicks (4-2) while each team placed four shots on goal.Â

Davidson will play its first road match in two weeks when it travels to Dayton Thursday for a 7 p.m. conference contest.Â
