CHARLOTTE — Queens scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to knock off Davidson 6-5 Tuesday night at the Stick Williams Dream Fields.
With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 24-18 overall, while Queens improved to 12-31 and earned a season split with Davidson.
For most of the night, it was Davidson tasked with trying to pull even, and the Wildcats tied the game 1-1 in second, 2-2 in the sixth and 3-3 in the eighth before taking the lead in the ninth. Ryan Wilson singled and scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-3, and Henry Koehler scored on Jacob Hinderleider's sacrifice fly after earning a walk.
That put the Wildcats in position to win, but in the bottom half, the Royals did the necessary damage with a leadoff double, three walks and two hit batsmen.
Wilson was the lone Wildcat with two hits, and Davidson utilized nine pitchers.
