
Wildcats Blast Four Home Runs in 10-7 Win at High Point

HIGH POINT — Four Davidson hitters homered as the Wildcats topped High Point 10-7 in a back-and-forth affair Tuesday night.
With the win, the Wildcats improved to 6-6, while High Point fell to 5-8.
Tyler Douglas, Jack Cotrone, Jacob Friend and Nick Calero all hit round-trippers, with Friend's two-run shot in the seventh inning breaking a 6-6 tie and putting the Wildcats on top for good.
Douglas hit a two-run homer in the second to put the Wildcats ahead 3-2, and Cotrone's solo shot in the fifth tied it at 5-all. Calero hit a solo bomb in the seventh, shortly after Friend's go-ahead home run. Cotrone, who had three hits Tuesday, is now tied with Michael O'Shaughnessy and Ryan Wilson for the team lead with four home runs.
Jacob Hinderleider and Cotrone also drove in runs with RBI-singles in the first and eighth, respectively.
Brycen Champey threw three innings in his first start, before Danny Rosenfield (2 IP), AJ Pabst (1 IP) and Will Banks (1 IP) effectively bridged the gap to closer Bennett Flynn in the eighth. Flynn struck out five in the final two frames to end it.
