Wildcats Host Western Carolina at Kannapolis Tuesday
3/13/2023 1:14:00 PM | Baseball
The Davidson baseball team will step into a pro ballpark Tuesday night when it hosts longtime Southern Conference foe Western Carolina at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at the home of the Single-A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.

It'll be the second game the Wildcats have played at the ballpark.

In 2021, Davidson played the second-ever game at the new ballpark and defeated Wofford 7-6. The Wildcats were slated to host Appalachian State in Kannapolis last March, but inclement weather forced a cancellation.

Tickets are for sale through the Cannon Ballers here.

Tuesday marks the first of two games the Wildcats will play in pro parks this year. On April 18, they'll meet NC State at Truist Field, home of the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.

WILSON LEADING THE 'CATS
Ryan Wilson is off to a hot start to his junior campaign, while splitting time between first base, left field and center field.

Wilson ranks atop the Atlantic 10 with seven home runs, 46 total bases and an .852 slugging percentage and hit three home runs in the weekend series against Bryant. Wilson is batting .389 and leads the Wildcats with a 1.366 OPS, 21 hits, 21 runs scored, 18 RBIs and five stolen bases and is tied with Jacob Friend with a team-best four doubles.
