Wildcats Host Queens Tuesday Night at Wilson

Tuesday night's baseball game against Queens, set for 6 p.m. at Wilson Field, will conclude an eight-game home stand for the Davidson Wildcats, who enter the cross-county matchup with a 4-3 record.

Davidson has won three of its last four games and is coming off a series win over Lafayette.

Sunday's 19-3 win included six home runs, including four in an eight-run eighth inning. Second baseman Jack Cotrone hit two in the game, including a grand slam in the second inning. His sixth-inning, three-run home run was one pitch from being a grand slam as well, but it came after Ryan Wilson stole home.

Landon Reeves hit two home runs in the eighth, while Michael Carico and Henry Koehler hit one each.

Wilson leads the Wildcats at the plate with a .435 average (10-for-23), while Cotrone is hitting .412 (7-for-17) with a team-leading 1.486 OPS. The two lead the way with 10 RBIs apiece.

Cotrone and Carico are tied for the team lead with three home runs, while Carico and Wilson each have 19 total bases.

Pitcher Miles Jamieson is slated to start his first game as a Wildcat Tuesday. He has an 0.00 ERA in two appearances and three innings thus far.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS
Queens, a longtime Division II program, is playing its first season at the Division I level as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Royals enter 2-5 after most recently winning two of three games against Fairleigh Dickinson to secure the program's first Division I series win.

Outfielder Nick Brassington leads the offense with a .345 average, 10 hits, five doubles and 15 total bases. Dillon Lewis leads the way with six RBIs, while Lewis and Riley Cheek have the Royals' only home runs.
