Wildcats Play to Scoreless Tie at Richmond

RICHMOND, VA. - The Davidson College women's soccer team played Atlantic 10 opponent Richmond to a scoreless draw Sunday on the road.Â
The tie moves the Wildcats record to 3-10-2 overall and 0-6-2 in the conference while the Spiders become 3-9-4 overall and 1-6-1 in league action.Â
Davidson was paced on offense by the trio of Aleia Gisolfi-McCready, Brooke Ditcham and Savannah Pruitt with four, three and three shots respectively and two on goal apiece.Â
Joining the attacking efforts were Charlotte Snead (3 shots, 1 on goal), Annaliese Mann (1 shot on goal) and Brooke Roumy (1 shot on goal).Â
As a team, the Wildcats matched a season-high shooting percentage of .600 placing nine of its 15 shots on target.Â
Emily Smith earned her fourth shutout of the season after making four saves over 90 minutes to preserve the tie.Â
Davidson and Richmond struck evenly over the opening minutes of the contest, each having taken four shots through the first 18 minutes of action.Â
The Wildcats controlled the offensive end of the field for the remainder of the first half but was unable to break the stalemate, entering the break knotted 0-0.Â
Following halftime, the back-and-forth action continued with the 'Cats once again becoming the aggressors in their offensive zone.
However, despite seven shots for Davidson and three for Richmond over the final 45 minutes, neither team would find the back of the net, on the way to a 0-0 draw.Â
