Adam and Brizzi Join Men’s Basketball Program

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Hunter Adam (Christchurch, New Zealand) and Angelo Brizzi (Warrenton, Va.) have joined the men's basketball program, as announced by head coach Matt McKillop. Both Adam and Brizzi enrolled at Davidson College at the beginning of the Spring 2023 semester.
 
Hunter Adam

Hunter is versatile, skilled, and athletic, and having only played basketball for a few years, has an incredibly high ceiling to develop into a special Davidson player. Enrolling for the spring semester will allow him to learn our system, immerse himself in our culture, and position himself to help impact winning as a freshman next year."
 
Overview: Enrolled at Davidson in January 2023 • Will sit out remainder of 2022-23 season.
 
Before Davidson: Member of the New Zealand Junior National Team • Served as team's captain in 2022 • Named National team MVP in 2020, 2021 and 2022 • Helped team to National Championship in 2022.
 
Personal: Born September 29, 2004 • Son of Zane and Jasmine Adam.

"We believe that Angelo is a perfect fit for Davidson and our basketball program. We recognized this while building a relationship with him when he was in high school, and are excited for what he will do in a Davidson uniform. Angelo has the ability to do many things with and without the ball in his hands, but he brings a high level of toughness and work ethic having come from winning programs, both in high school and college."

At Villanova
2022-23 Non-Conference Highlights: Added four points and three rebounds on Nov. 25 vs. Portland  • Supplied four points with an assist and steal in 12:25 at Michigan State on Nov. 18 • Scored two points and added four rebounds in his regular season debut, an 81-68 win over La Salle on Nov. 7. 

2021-22 Overview: Served a redshirt season as a newcomer at Villanova, practicing daily but not seeing any game action.
 
High School: He averaged 20.3 points, 6.6 assists and 3.2 steals per game during the 2019-20 campaign as a junior while earning MVP honors in the Delaney Athletic Conference • Highland posted a 23-3 record under coach Brian Hooker that season • Among the interested college suitors were Arizona, Michigan and Northwestern • Played his freshman season at Fauquier High School where he was coached by his uncle, Wayne Brizzi.
 
Personal: Born November 5, 2001 • Son of Pat and Carolyn Brizzi • Has two siblings, Camilla and Carissa.
