Wildcats Drop A-10 Game at UMass

AMHERST, Mass. — Davidson scored in the 51st minute to stay within striking distance at UMass Sunday afternoon, but the Minutewomen ultimately claimed the 3-1 win in Atlantic 10 Conference women's soccer.
The Wildcats are now 7-2-1 overall and 0-2 in the A-10.
Six minutes into the second half, Savannah Pruitt scored her first career goal to cut the UMass lead to 2-1. Pruitt finished the score into the right side of the net after a Hailey Braemer cross into the box and a header by Remi White.
"After halftime we did have a positive response and got a goal on the board," said coach Adam Denton. "But we've got to learn that when we come on the road in the A-10, that we've got to match that physicality and intensity. In every game, but especially on the road."
The Wildcats had an 8-6 shots advantage and a 4-3 edge in shots-on-goal. Davidson also led 4-1 on corner kicks.
Lauren Bonavita scored in the 18th and 64th minutes to lead UMass.
