Hornets' Nest Game Presented By OrthoCarolina Set for Tuesday

Davidson Sports Properties and Charlotte Sports Properties are proud to partner with OrthoCarolina to present the 2022 Battle for the Hornets' Nest on Tuesday, November 29 inside John M. Belk Arena. OrthoCarolina, one of the nation's leading independent orthopedics practices, has been a longtime partner for this historic college basketball rivalry between the Davidson Wildcats and the Charlotte 49ers.
The Hornets' Nest series began in the 1978-79 season, making this year the 49th edition of the game. Davidson won the 2021 Battle for the Hornets' Nest Trophy, 75-58, to reclaim the Hornets' Nest Trophy. The winning team this year will be presented with the Hornets' Nest trophy following the game.
OrthoCarolina's team of sports medicine physicians, Dr. Robert Morgan (Davidson College Athletics) and Physician Assistant Jeff Dabkowski (Davidson College Athletics) as well as Dr. Bryan Saltzman (Charlotte 49ers), said in a joint statement: "OrthoCarolina is thrilled to provide the highest level of care to the tremendous athletes of UNCC and Davidson College. The Battle for the Hornets' Nest is an opportunity for us to partner with incredible organizations and individuals while giving us a platform to allow our orthopedic expertise in sports to make a positive impact on our community. "
