'Cats and Rhode Island Set to Battle Saturday Inside Belk

Effective January 8, 2022, Davidson College athletics will require spectators attending men's and women's basketball games inside John M. Belk Arena to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
 
The requirement applies to fans age 5 and older. Those 12 and older must be fully vaccinated, while children between ages 5-11 will be required to provide proof of at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
 
To meet the requirement, spectators must present their COVID-19 vaccination card or digital copy along with a photo ID. Faculty, staff and students can show their College ID as proof due to the college's vaccination policy.
 
Davidson College's indoor mask mandate will remain in effect.

• Winners of 10 straight, Davidson enters 11-2 overall and 1-0 in league play following an 88-73 win at Saint Joseph's Wednesday.
• The Wildcats' current win streak matches their longest since the 2014-15 season (first year in A-10).
• It's also the 11th time under head coach Bob McKillop Davidson has won at least 10 consecutive in a season.
• The Wildcats are off to their best start since the 1969-70 season.
• Baylor currently holds the nation's longest win streak this season at 14. USC is second with 12 straight ahead of Abilene Christian (11), Colorado State (11) and Davidson.
• Since joining the Atlantic 10, the 'Cats have won a regular season title (2015), tournament title (2018) and totaled 77 league wins (10.8 per year), while recording an average finish of 4.4 in the 14-team conference.

LAST TIME OUT
• Foster Loyer paced five Davidson players in double figures with a game-high 25 points and the Wildcats won their 10th straight with an 88-73 victory over Saint Joseph's in the Atlantic 10 opener Wednesday night inside Hagan Arena.
• A redshirt junior from Clarkston, Mich., Loyer finished 10-of-17 from the floor, handed out 5 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds.
• Fellow starters Michael Jones (18), Hyunjung Lee (17), Sam Mennenga (13) and Luka Brajkovic (11) also went over the 10-point plateau for the 'Cats, who shot 50.8 percent and drilled 11 3-pointers.
• Lee also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of 2021-22.
• After the Hawks connected on back-to-back treys to take their first advantage at the 8:31 mark, Loyer responded with 11 straight for the 'Cats, who closed the opening half on a 13-3 spurt to lead 38-33 at the break.
• Davidson carried its momentum into the second period, opening on a 17-6 streak to all but put the game out of reach. The Wildcats' lead grew to as many as 22 with under two minutes to play on a pair of Lee free throws.
• Jordan Hall and Dahmir Bishop led Saint Joseph's with 17 points each.
 
DURING THE STREAK
• During the 'Cats' current 10-game winning streak, they are outscoring the opposition by +16.8 points, while holding them to just .407 from the floor.
• Offensively, Davidson is shooting 51.1 percent from the floor, 42.2 percent from long range and 81.4 percent at the charity stripe.
