WILDCAT SCRATCHES
• Davidson, which has won 15 of its last 16, enters 16-3 overall and atop the Atlantic 10 standings at 6-1.
• The Wildcats climbed into the AP Top-25 Monday for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign (first season in A-10).
• Prior to Wednesday's setback against VCU, Davidson shared the nation's longest win streak with Auburn.
• Since joining the Atlantic 10, the 'Cats have won a regular season title (2015), tournament title (2018) and totaled 82 league wins (10.8 per year), while recording an average finish of 4.4 in the 14-team conference and making the tournament semifinals each year.
• Saturday's contest is the 1,000th of head coach Bob McKillop's collegiate coaching career.
• Following the game, Davidson will retire the jerseys of Charles "Lefty" Driesell and Terry Holland.
• Driesell coached at Davidson for nine seasons, guiding the 'Cats to a 176-65 record, five regular season titles, three Southern Conference Tournament crowns (1966, 1968 & 1969) and Elite Eight appearances in 1968 and 1969.
• Driesell's first freshman recruit, Holland played for the Wildcats from 1961-1964, concluding his standout career ranked among Davidson's Top-5 in scoring and rebounding.
• After serving as an assistant coach (1964-69) for the Wildcats following graduation, Holland succeeded Lefty as head coach, compiling a record of 92-43 over five years and earning Southern Conference Coach of the Year three times.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Hyunjung Lee, a preseason all-conference selection, leads Davidson in scoring at 16.0 points per outing.
• Fellow starters Foster Loyer (15.6), Luka Brajkovic (14.4) and Michael Jones (12.6) are also averaging double figures for the Wildcats.
• Loyer enters 10th nationally in 3-point field-goal percentage, shooting 46.6 percent (48-103).
• He is also third nationally in free-throw percentage (.942).
• Brajkovic, a two-time A-10 Player of the Week selection, is averaging 20.2 points and 8.0 rebounds, while shooting 67.9 percent (38-56) overall and 60.0 percent (6-10) from 3-point range the last five games.
• Davidson's starting lineup is shooting 51.1 percent (437-855) from the floor and 43.9 percent (160-364) from 3-point range.
• The Wildcats rank among the nation's best in field-goal percentage (.495/6th), 3-point field-goal percentage (.410/2nd), free-throw percentage (.779/14th) and assist/turnover ratio (1.46/18th).
• Davidson is 14-0 on the season when hitting the 70-point plateau.

LAST TIME OUT
• A late rally was not enough to extend Davidson's nation-leading 15-game win streak Wednesday night, as VCU edged the Wildcats 70-68 in Atlantic 10 basketball.
• Despite trailing 67-52 with five minutes to play, the Wildcats got within a point twice in the final 1:32, first at 67-66 after Foster Loyer made three free throws, and then at 69-68 after he made two more. The Wildcats then went to Luka Brajkovic, who scored a game-high 23 points, on the next two possessions, but he was called for a charge and had a 3-point attempt blocked, as the Rams held on.
• Brajkovic turned in his fourth double-double of the season, and third in the last five games, adding 12 boards. Hyunjung Lee (13 points), Loyer (12) and Michael Jones (10) also scored in double figures, but the Wildcats struggled to get open shots from beyond the arc, finishing 3-of-14.
• Down 67-52, the Wildcats battled back with 14 straight points to give themselves a chance, starting with a Nelson Boachie-Yiadom floater. Lee followed with two free throws, and Brajkovic added a layup before a Jones trey from the right wing got the Wildcats within six at 67-61 with 3:04 to play. Brajkovic added two free throws, before Loyer stepped to the line and cut it to 67-66.
• VCU, which came in averaging just under six made 3-pointers per game, drilled seven in the first 20 minutes, including four straight as part of a 12-2 run to close the period and take a 37-29 lead into the half.
• Vince Williams battled foul trouble, but still led the Rams with 16 points, while Adrian Baldwin, Jr., had 15.

THREE WITH FORTY
• Davidson and Missouri State are the only Division I programs to have three players with 40 or more 3-pointers this season.
Foster Loyer (47), Hyunjung Lee (46) and Michael Jones (44) have each hit at least 40 treys for the 'Cats through 19 games.

UP NEXT
• Davidson will hit the road for two straight beginning with a 7 p.m. tip at defending champ and preseason favorite St. Bonaventure Tuesday.
